ST. GEORGE, Utah — The Sam Houston soccer team fought tooth and nail but Utah Tech scored in the second half to secure a 1-0 Western Athletic Conference victory on Friday night.
The Bearkats (3-7-2 overall, 2-4-1 WAC) held their own against the first place Trailblazers (8-2-1, 4-0-1) for the first 53 minutes. Goalkeeper
Tatum Krueger had four saves in the first half but Utah Tech was able to score a goal in the 53rd minute to snap Sam Houston's two-match winning streak.
Krueger finished with five saves as the offense failed to muster an attack against the Trailblazers. The Kats had just six shots, two on goal by forward
Kinsey Hill.
Sam Houston will face Southern Utah on Sunday at 3 p.m.
