HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston Bearkats men's basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of guard Rylan Kelly to its 2026 recruiting class.
Kelly, a 6-4, four-star ESPN recruit comes to Sam Houston following an outstanding high school career at Southeastern Preparatory Academy in Orlando, Florida; one of the nation's top high school teams. He is one of the top performers for the Falcons while showcasing his perimeter skills and elite athleticism.
"Rylan has a very high ceiling and an opportunity to play early because of his athleticism and motor," head coach
Chris Mudge said. "He is a dynamic playmaker who is being coached by one of the best coaches in the country on one of the best teams in the country. Rylan fits our style and will be another exciting young guard to come through our program."
In the spring and summer, Kelly played for 1Family on the Puma circuit, one of the top AAU programs in the country. His elite guard play and toughness mirrors successful Bearkat guards of the past, and his size and athleticism will allow him to be very versatile as well.
Kelly chose the Bearkats over multiple Division I offers and looks to make an instant impact.
"Rylan is a very intelligent basketball player that has played hard every time I've watched him play," assistant coach
Jake White said.
