HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston locked in Friday night and got back on the winning track.
The Bearkats took down Louisiana Tech in four sets, taking the last three to secure Sam Houston's first win in Conference USA action at Johnson Coliseum.
The Bearkats (9-17, 1-12 CUSA) dropped the first set 25-20, falling behind early. Sam Houston rallied to make a major comeback, taking the next three sets from the Bulldogs (8-20, 1-13 CUSA) 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.
The Kats hit .241 for the match as freshman Chloe Monson finished with 21 kills and senior Lauren Malone had 20. Senior Avery Fowler set up the Bearkats with 37 assists, and Shaelin White defended the back line with 13 digs.
Sam Houston continues its match against Louisiana Tech in game two of the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. During pregame the Seniors, Avery Fowler, Lauren Malone and Ella Folse, will be recognized.
