Series vs the Cowboys: Oklahoma State leads 0-4

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston will put its four-game winning streak on the line Tuesday when the Bearkats face Oklahoma State at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Tipoff for the game is set for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. The game can also be heard online on the Bearkat Sports Network with Carlos Zimmermann on the call.

Orange and black series becoming the norm
• The Bearkats and Cowboys will be facing each other for the third time in four years. Oklahoma State topped Sam Houston 65-51 on Dec. 6, 2022, and 85-70 on Nov. 11, 2023, with both matchups coming in Stillwater.

Kats go 2-0 at ICCU Holiday Classic
• Sam Houston turned up the heat in the second half at the Idaho Central Arena to run away with a 94-68 victory over Idaho on Friday night.

The Bearkats made some clutch shots in pivotal moments to extend their winning streak to four with a pair of wins at the ICCU Holiday Hoops Classic. Sam Houston edged Idaho State 85-81 on Wednesday behind a 26-point performance from senior transfer Kashie Natt, which is a new career high.

The Kats fought back from a nine-point deficit to retake the lead in the second half. Isaiah Manning, who had a key shot right before the half, drained a 3-pointer to put Sam Houston on top 58-53. Freshman Jacobe Coleman hit two shots from behind the arc midway through the second. Manning opened it up with his third 3 of the evening to make it 69-56.

Sam Houston took over from there and closed it out with Manning putting on the finishing touches with a four-point play in the final minutes. Manning led the Kats with 18 points, and Coleman had 17. Justin Begg added 13 points, and Jaxson Ford scored 10.

Bench depth leads the way
• The Bearkats scored 55 points off the bench in Friday's 94-68 victory over Idaho at the Idaho Central Arena in Boise. Two of the team's leading scorers are coming off the bench this season. Sophomore Isaiah Manning, who scored 18 on Friday, and freshman Coby Coleman, who finished with 17, are averaging 10.6 and 10.9 points, respectively, in seven games this season.

NCAA announces NET Rankings
• Sam Houston is ranked No. 78 in the first NCAA NET rankings that were released on Monday. NM State is the only CUSA school ahead of the Bearkats, coming in at 70 with WKU at 95. The highest ranking Sam has had was 7th when the NCAA introduced NET rankings for the first time in December 2022.
