2020 UIL Region III XC Preview canceled

The Sam Houston State men's and women's cross country programs have decided to cancel the annual UIL Region III Cross Country Preview which was scheduled to be held Sept. 19 at Kate Barr-Ross Park in Huntsville.

Here is a statement from the SHSU cross county programs:

"We regretfully announce the cancellation of the 2020 Region III Cross Country Preview that was originally scheduled for Sept. 19. Given the current situation regarding the pandemic, along with the UIL guidance of limiting regular season competitions to eight teams, we do not feel it to be prudent to host a large-scale sporting event at this time. We look forward to bringing this competition back for the 2021 season.

"Our focus currently is ensuring we maintain the ability to host the UIL Region III Cross Country Championships in November under the health and safety guidelines of the University Interscholastic League, Sam Houston State University and local health officials."
