Cross country lands 2 on SLC academic teams

FRISCO — Sophomore Cryslan Tucker and senior Andrew Bosquez have been named to the Southland Conference women's and men's cross country all-academic teams, the league announced Thursday morning.

Both finished in the top 10 to highlight action for the Sam Houston men's and women's cross country teams at the Southland Conference Championships in February, which landed them on the academic all-conference second teams.

Tucker, a health sciences major, placed seventh on the 6k course on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana with a time of 21:18.05. She was named to the All-SLC cross country second team for her efforts.

Bosquez, a sociology major, placed ninth in the men's 8k. His time of 23:55.46 also earned him second-team All-SLC honors.

To qualify for the all-academic teams, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
