HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston secured the CUSA series against UTEP with a 2-0 victory Saturday at the Bearkat Softball Complex.
The Bearkats (22-21, 10-7 CUSA) reached double-digit CUSA wins for the first time since joining the league in 2024.
Jenny Robison put the Kats on the board with a solo home run over the left-center wall in the third.
Sam Houston took advantage of back-to-back walks when Samantha Graeter delivered an RBI single to deep center field for what proved to be the final run of the game.
Kendall Daniel (6-5) pitched a complete game, striking out five. She allowed three hits and no runs.
Four Bearkats recorded hits — Morgan Holliday, Bella Perez, Graeter and Robison each had one.
The Bearkats will close out the series on Sunday. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m. and can be followed on StatBroadcast.
