Hall of Honor
Anderson won all-league honors in both the Gulf Star and Southland Conferences as a defensive back and punt return specialist. He was named as an Associated Press All-America honorable mention selection in 1987. His career marks of 94 punt returns for 857 yards both still stand as Sam Houston records today. In 1986 he ranked 8th nationally and led the Gulf Star with a 12.7 average as the Kats won the 1986 league championship. In 1987, he led the Southland with 7 interceptions for 185 yards, both school season records. He ranked sixth nationally in punt returns with 27 for 278 yards. In 1988, Anderson was Sam Houston's second-leading tackler and ranked fourth in the Southland in punt returns with another school record of 325 yards.
