Bass stands as one of Sam Houston's all-time top field events performers. Competing from 2004 to 2008, she led the Bearkats to three Southland Conference outdoor titles (2005, 2006 and 2008) and the indoor league championship in 2008. Bass was named as 2008 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships Outstanding Performer as a senior. She earned all-Southland honors in both the hammer and the shot put in both 2006 and 2008.
