Hall of Honor
A special teams legend in the early 1990s, Woods played as a cornerback and on special teams. He became Sam Houston's all-time leader in blocked kicks and was a two-time Bearkat Special Teams “Most Valuable Player.” As a member of the self-named “Block Party,” Woods spear-headed a group that accounted for 25 kick blocks during his four years as a Bearkat. Trey is one of four players that have blocked two kicks in one game, setting the school record originally with a blocked extra point and a blocked field goal against A&M-Kingsville in 1993. That same year he set the single season record for blocks with five including three punts, a field goal and a PAT. Woods' career record of 12 blocks consists of eight punts, two field goals and two extra point attempts. Also seeing action as a cornerback, Trey totaled 151 tackles and broke up 14 passes during his four-year career.
