Women's cross country eighth at Southland Meet

NACOGDOCHES -- Led by Molly Farrell and Haleigh Pustka, the Sam Houston State women's team placed eighth at the 2008 Southland Conference cross country championship meet hosted by Stephen F. Austin State Monday morning.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the women's team title with 49 points. Stephen F. Austin State was the runner-up with 61 points, followed by Texas State-San Marcos 95, Texas-Arlington 108, Texas-San Antonio 152, Southeastern Louisiana 164, Lamar 176, Sam Houston 191, McNeese State 236, Central Arkansas 243, Nicholls State 255 and Northwestern State 357.
Farrell placed 25th individually with a time of 23:29. Pustka was 28th at 23:38.
Other Sam Houston finishes included Victoria Gemeny 34th 23:56; Sara Collazos 46th 24:43; Hanna Bryant 58th 25:28; Bridget Costello 61st 25:34 and Devin Mitchell 65th 25:49.
