The second Annual Sam Houston State Women's Basketball Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the Raven Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas.
The event promises to be challenging, exciting and truly enjoyable for all participants.
This year's tournament will be a four-person scramble with a 9 am shotgun start. There will be prizes given for the longest drive, closest to the pin, closest second shot, longest putt and for 1st, 2nd and 3rd low net teams. .
The cost to play is $100 per individual or $400 per foursome and limited to the first 108 players.
The tournament also offers a chance for the community to come out and meet members of the SHSU women's basketball team as well as socialize with the coaching staff.
The golf tournament serves as a fundraiser to assist in supplementing the expenses for the team and is an excellent opportunity for community members to show support for the team.
There will also be a special SILENT AUCTION held in the Raven Nest Club house. Participants can bid from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items up for auction include a Green Bay Packers helmet autographed by Brett Favre and sports memoribilia signed by Houston Texans players. The silent auction is not limited to participants in the golf tournament.
There are five opportunities for people to show their support by donating in one of the following ways:
1.) Hole Sponsor $100.00
2.) Team & Hole Sponsor for $450.00
3.) Individual Player & Hole Sponsor for $200.00
4.) Tournament Sponsor for $1000.00. By becoming a Tournament Sponsor you would receive a 4-man team entry, lunch for four, gifts & exclusive advertisement at the 1st and 18th holes.
