Sam Houston "Pop Tab" Drive nets 118.6 pounds

The Sam Houston State student-athlete advisory committee completed its 2010 "Pop Tab" drive to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House M. D. Anderson Cancer Center with a record collection.
Bearkat student-athletes collected 118.6 pounds of pop tabs from soft drink cans. The tabs will be turned over for recycling and the money with go to the Ronald McDonald House.
The "Pop Tab" drive is one of several community service projects Sam Houston student-athletes undertake to help the Huntsville and Greater Houston area.
Other projects included the Southland Conference "Twelve Days of Christmas" project, the Bearkat Mentor Program, designated driver team Program, Jump Rope for Heart, Read-a-thon, Athletic Department Trash Bash, Food Drive/Good Shepherd Mission, SAAFE House Program and the annual Dog Show for the Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter Fundraiser.
