Women's Basketball Early Signing

Amanda Barnes, 5-5 point guard from Arlington / Martin High School, has signed a letter-of-intent during the November early signing period to attend Sam Houston State University and play women's basketball for head coach Brenda Nichols.
Martin averaged 13.1 points, 3.2 steals and 3.3 assists per game as a junior last season.
"Amanda brings exceptional court vision to the floor," Nichols said. "She has the ability to deliver the ball and plays at a high level of intensity and control. She is a strong outside shooter as well and will give us an offensive weapon from three-point range."
An outstanding student-athlete, Barnes is a National Honor Society member.
"Amanda is a savvy point guard with a great basketball IQ," Nichols said. "We are excited that she has signed with us and will help us continue reaching our goals as a program."
