Kats face Sacred Heart Friday

The Bearkats landed in consolation play with a 63-31 loss to No. 10 Delaware last Friday. Sacred Heart fell to Georgetown in the first round 76-50.
Both teams return their top stars after successful seasons in 2012.
All-Southland Conference senior forwards Britni Martin and Sequeena Thomas lead the Bearkats. Sam Houston placed third in the Southland Conference last year and reached the quarterfinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) in post-season action.
The Pioneers were Northeast Conference champions after a 25-8 season in 2012. Sacred Heart lost to Georgia Tech in first round of the NCAA championships, the team's third NCAA appearance since 2006.
Sacred Heart returns the majority of starters for the 2012-13 season, including 2012 NEC Rookie of the Year Gabby Washington and 2012 NEC Tournament MVP Ericka Norman.
Grambling State and consolation round host Liberty play in the other half of the preseason WNIT bracket at Lynchburg. The two winners will play at 7 p.m. Saturday while the two losers will face off Saturday at 4 p.m.
The women's basketball team continues its road swing next week, traveling to Lincoln, Nebr., to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Sam Houston's first regular season home game at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum will be the annual "Pack the House" contest at 11 a.m. on Friday Nov. 30.
More than 3,000 Huntsville area elementary school children are expected to attend.
