
Bearkat Women Take on TCU

The Bearkats (2-5) and the Horned Frogs (4-3) will square off at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum at 2 p.m.
TCU is looking to extend its home winning streak to five games. The Frogs haven't lost to Sam Houston State since an overtime thriller in 1985 and will look to garner their 10th-straight victory in the all-time series.
Sam Houston State heads into Sunday's tilt fresh off a 71-61 setback to South Alabama.
In their last outing, the Bearkats' Sequeena Thomas led the way with a double-double, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jasmine Johnson netted 12 points. The performance marked Thomas's 36th performance with double figure points and rebounds.
On the year, Sam Houston has defeated Grambling and Texas A&M-Commerce, respectively. The Bearkats last won on Nov. 30 against the Lions. Individually,
Britni Martin has showed flashes of brilliance during non-conference play, averaging 15.6 points per game, while grabbing 4.4 boards. Thomas has also been stellar, recording 12.7 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per contest.
When the Horned Frogs and Bearkats take to the court Sunday it will mark the 14th meeting between the two Texas schools. TCU has dominated the series as of late, winning the last nine meetings, including a 60-49 victory in 2011. Overall, the Horned Frogs own a 9-4 advantage in the series.
Following the TCU game, Sam Houston will head to California to participate in the Long Beach Classic where the Bearkats will take on Albany and California Long Beach. Trips to UTEP and Houston Baptist will complete the six game road swing
