
Kats roll to win in second half

Tied 31-31 at halftime, Sam Houston jumped out to a quick lead in the second period and never looked back, out-scoring the Cardinals 41-28 in the second period.
Martin went 4-of-8 from three point range and totaled 22 points and seven rebounds. Thomas scored 20 points and led both teams with 14 boards. The Bearkats out-rebounded the Cardinals 50-36.
Kalis Loyd led Lamar with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Chanice Smith also scored in double figures for Sam Houston with 10 points. Angela Beadle scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds while Jazmin Wiley added seven points and six rebounds.
The Sam Houston defense held Lamar to 31 percent shooting and created 17 turnovers.
The Bearkats next travel to Nacogdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin Wednesday before closing out the regular season Saturday afternoon with Texas State.
