
Trio of new employees joins athletic staff

Carson is the Bearkats' new assistant athletic director for ticketing. Spino is the staff associate for Bearkat athletic marketing. Rodriquez joins the sports information office as media coordinator.
Carson previously worked in ticketing at the University of Wisconsin.
Carson was responsible for coordinating student ticketing for all sports and managing all season ticket renewals.
After receiving a master's of education in sport management at Texas in 2009, he worked for the Longhorn Foundation. His duties included assisting with annual fund, premium seating, in-game hospitality management, and donor management.
A 2007 graduate of Arkansas State University, he served as a marketing intern and was responsible for planning and implementing game promotions, marketing game operations, and soliciting group ticket sales.
Spino joins Sam Houston after interning with NACDA and NACMA. Spino assisted with several marketing and promotional projects for both national organizations.
Spino is a 2006 graduate of UCLA. She completed work on her master's in sports administration from Ohio University in June 2012. At UCLA, she worked with Gatorade and Paragon Marketing in executing Gatorade summer programs for more than 12 sports. She also was the adidas America licensed property manager assistant for two years.
While in Ohio, Spino served as a marketing associate in the athletics department. Her responsibilities included assisting with fundraising, creating promotional materials, and implementing game promotions.
Rodriguez previously the Assistant Director of Communications for the National Football Foundation. Rodriguez was responsible for the launch of a new website and expanding the organization's interactive media efforts.
Prior to joining the NFF, Rodriguez served as the media services intern at the Southland Conference where he contributed to the communications efforts for all 17 sports.
Rodriguez earned a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State in mass communication in May 2009. While in Huntsville, he worked in the sports information office for two years and assisted with the schools new media efforts.
