SHSU "Night of Champions" Celebration Sunday

Sam Houston celebrates its second annual “Night of Champions” Sunday at the James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center.
The 5:30 p.m. event salutes the more than 375 student-athletes who represent the university competing in 17 sports at the NCAA Division I level.
Special presentations will honor Sam Houston's 2014 NCAA Champion women's bowling team, the 2013 Southland Conference champion baseball squad and both the women's indoor track and field and men's golf teams which brought home conference championship trophies this spring.
“Night of Champions” features an ESPY awards show format with a variety of video presentations honoring Sam Houston's athletic achievements during the past year.
Student-athletes to be recognized include five All-America award winners, 32 All-Southland Conference first team selections, five others who earned special league awards, the 23 sports “Most Valuable” athletes and 56 Bearkat seniors.
