Two new staff members have joined the Sam Houston athletic staff in corporate partnerships and marketing.
Kyle Barnard is the Bearkats' new assistant athletic director for corporate partnerships. He comes from Northwestern State where he held a similar role.
Colin Zvosec joined the SHSU staff this summer as marketing staff association. He recently completed his sports management graduate degree at the University of Kansas.
Zvosec replaces Kimberly Spino who has transitioned into corporate partnerships.
Barnard worked at Northwestern State from 2010 to 2014. He joined the department as a graduate assistant then served in ticket operations before moving into corporate partnerships.
He oversees sponsorships, ticketing and fan experience as well as other sources of revenue generation and strategic initiatives for the Demons.
During his time in the ticket office, the Demons set school records in season ticket sales, single game ticket sales, attendance and kids' club memberships.
Before graduating with his master's degree in sports administration from NSU, Barnard received his undergraduate degree in kinesiology and fitness from Ouachita Baptist University. He was a four-year letterman for the OBU football team. He served as president of OBU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee while reaching the dean's list.
His hometown is The Woodlands, Texas. He is married to Brittany Barnard, a pediatric RN.
Zvosec joined the Sam Houston State athletic department on August 1, 2014 as a Marketing Staff Associate.
Prior to Sam Houston, Zvosec was at the University of Kansas where he worked as a graduate assistant in the Williams Education Fund while completing his master's degree in sports management.
In the Williams Fund, his responsibilities included managing donor accounts, pre-game and in-game donor hospitality events, and promoting Williams Fund U.
Zvosec received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Sciences, as well as a minor in Business Administration, from Ohio University in 2012.
As an undergraduate, Zvosec worked with the ticket office at football and men's basketball games, volunteered in the sports information and compliance offices, and was a member of the Sports Business Association.
