Single-game tickets on sale with Texans incentives

With arguably the most anticipated season in Sam Houston State football history a week away, Bearkat athletics will begin selling single-game tickets on Saturday at 10 a.m. with weekend purchasers of the 90th annual “Battle of the Piney Woods” presented by H-E-B eligible for a pair of Houston Texans tickets.
On Oct. 3, the No. 3 Bearkats seek a fifth-straight victory against Stephen F. Austin in Houston's NRG Stadium, as well as bragging rights in one of the state's longest tenured rivalries. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Single game tickets at Bowers Stadium are $18 for general admission, $23 for bleacher reserved and $30 for reserved chair backs. A group discount may apply to all sections with the purchase of 10 or more tickets.
The Bearkats head into their 100th season of play returning 54 lettermen and 22 starters from last year's squad that won the Southland Conference title and advanced to the FCS semifinals.
Sam Houston placed 13 players on the preseason All-Southland squad selected by vote of the league's head coaches. Seven players were first-team selections and six were on the second team. The 13 honorees marked the most by any of the league members.
Season tickets are also still available and include all six games at Bowers Stadium as well as the Battle of the Piney Woods. Season tickets provide greater savings per game and guarantee priority to National Championship tickets and same seat priority for any playoff game hosted at Bowers Stadium. Other benefits include a 2015 Orange Out Shirt and Grow the Growl poncho with each ticket purchased.
