
Boney Watson Continues Pro Career At Al Wakrah

Former Sam Houston All-Southland Conference point guard Boney Watson is continuing to find success in pro basketball overseas according to a report from the Eurobasket Data Center.
Watson earned all-league honors as a member of the Bearkats' 2000 Southland championship team and ranks second today in all-time Sam Houston career assists with 569.
In his 16th season as a professional player the 38-year old guard has signed with Al Wakrah. Watson, a Qatari ex-international point guard with dual citizenship owning an American passport, played last season at Al Jaysh. He led his to the cup championship and to make the league final. He was named to Asia-Basket.com's All-Qata Division I first-team all-pro.
Two seasons ago Watson played at Al Rayyan where he averaged 11.8 points and 6.9 assists during the 2013-14 season. He also played six games in the Asian Club championships where he posted statistics of 20.7 points and 3.2 assists per game. In 2012-13 Watson played at Monaco in the U.S. semi-pro Eurobasket S League.
Other achievements in Watson's profession career overseas include represented Qatar at the Arab Club Championship semifinals last year. He has also played professionally in Jordan (Zain), Kuwait (Al Kuwait), Mexico (Toros), Spain, Turkey (Beykoz) and Qatar (Al Gharafa and Al Arabi).
