Bearkat Athletics Auction set for Saturday

HUNTSVILLE - The 2017 Bearkat Athletics Auction, presented by the Bearkat Champions Fund, is coming up this Saturday, July 29th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum on the campus of Sam Houston State University.
Those attending this year's event are able to designate their donations through table sales and items purchased at the auction to the sport or sports of their choice.
Aside from supporting individual sports programs directly, this year's auction will end with a push to fund new, technology-based improvements to the Ron Randleman Strength & Fitness Center. These improvements will better enable the Strength & Conditioning staff to service over 400 student athletes and customize workouts for each throughout the year. Previous facility upgrades that have made major impacts on the success of our student athletes and their experience include improvements to Medical Training Facilities, enclosing and adding HVAC systems to the Baseball/Softball hitting facilities, and upgrading the sound and video systems inside the Ron Randleman Strength & Fitness Center, among other projects.
Attendees of the 2017 Bearkat Athletics Auction will be treated to a steak dinner, a brief program, and will have the opportunity to meet representatives from each sport face to face. In addition, they will have a variety of items, including various vacations and trips (fishing and hunting, Santa Fe), ticketing and experiential packages (Houston Astros, Battle of the Piney Woods football game, exclusive Bearkat Baseball road trip package), as well as an assortment of sports memorabilia, gift cards, and golf packages.
Proceeds from the event directly support Sam Houston student athletes through the Bearkat Champions Fund, the sole fundraising arm of Bearkat Athletics. Money raised through the Bearkat Champions Fund assist with fifth-year and summer scholarships, as well as operating expenses incurred by sports throughout the year which including travel, equipment, and apparel.
