
Women place 12th at SLC championships

CONWAY, Ark. - The Sam Houston State women's cross country team placed 12th at the 2019 Southland Conference Championships Friday morning at Beaverfork Lake Park.
The women's team title remained in Conway as Central Arkansas put together a first-place performance with 64 points for the program's first Southland Championship.
Sophomore Rebeca Gonzalez led the Bearkats with a 34th-place finish with a time of 22:52.5 on the 6k course. Freshman Monique Spruill came in 66th with a time of 24:09.3.
Freshman Haley Garza placed 76 with a time of 25:03.2, while freshmen Macie Martinez and Lauren Reyna were 79th and 80th with times of 25:20.3 and 25:27.6, respectively.
