The Bearkats capped a 10-win weekend by bowling the second team baker 300 in school history and finished seventh at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt.
Sam Houston entered the day as the No. 8 seed in the bracket play. They dropped the opener against Monmouth but closed with two wins against Central Missouri and Wisconsin Whitewater.
The 300 game came in the second match of the day against Central Missouri. With the Kats leading two game to one, Hayley Connelly, Elise Chambers, Katelyn Dickerson, Madysen Keller and Bea Hernandez combined for the perfect game.

The Bearkats won the match two games later and then beat Wisconsin Whitewater in four.
“Overall this was a good weekend for us,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “We wanted to get double-digit wins and we did that. Also, we had some big head-to-head victories that could help with NCAA selection.”
The perfect game for the Kats is the second in two seasons for the program after getting the first in school history last season at the Kat Klash in Houston.
“Shooting our second baker 300 with such a young line up just shows the maturity of this team and where we've come since August,” Hagen said. “This weekend was a complete team effort and the ladies really stepped up. We have to carry this confidence over to conference and try to seal our fate and take it out of the committees hand.”
The regular season concludes next week at the Southland Bowling League Championship at USA Bowl in Dallas.
