Justice to take leave of absence

HUNTSVILLE - Sam Houston women's basketball coach Ravon Justice is taking an indefinite leave of absence from coaching this season for personal reasons.Â

Justice will not coach the Bearkats for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. Assistant coach Brittany Mason will serve as acting head coaching in Justice's absence.Â

"We want to give our full support to Ravon and respect her and her family's request for privacy during this time," said Director of Athletics Bobby Williams. "We look forward to her return to the sideline, and in the meantime we have full confidence in Coach Mason and the rest of the staff that Coach Justice has assembled to continue to guide the women's basketball program for the remainder of the season."

The Bearkats next game is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Longwood at Johnson Coliseum on ESPN+.
