Grant signs on with Bearkat Women's Basketball

HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston women's basketball head coach picked up a big addition for next year earlier this week with the signing of Kelis Grant to a National Letter of Intent.
"Kelis is a versatile guard who competes on a high level," SHSU head coach Ravon Justice said. "She's passionate about playing defense and has a great work ethic. We are excited to add her to our basketball family."

A guard from Cedar Hill High School just outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Grant recently began her third year on the varsity squad for the Longhorns.

A 2-time all-district honoree at CHHS, she is coming off a second team all-District 11-6A nod as a junior where she helped lead the Longhorns to the regional quarterfinals. She also is a 2-time academic all-district honoree.

Her Cedar Hill team finished 26-11 a year ago to reach the regional quarterfinals for the eighth consecutive year.
