FORT WORTH -- Four players were in double figures scoring for the Bearkats as Sam Houston knocked off TCU 60-54 Wednesday night in Fort Worth.
It's the first time since 1985 the Kats (2-3) have beat TCU (2-3).
Chyna Allen led the way for the Bearkats with 16 points. Madelyn Bautista scored 14 while
Kaylee Jefferson and
Mikayla Eddins each had 10.
The Kats had a two-point advantage after the first quarter and opened it up to nine at the break. They led by as much as 12 points and never trailed in the contest.
The Kats dominated play in the paint, outscoring TCU 40-12 while out rebounding the Horned Frogs by 5.
The win is the first against a Power 5 school since a victory over Baylor in 1997.
