THIBODAUX, La. — The Sam Houston tennis team fell 4-2 to Southern Miss in a dual match on Sunday at the Colonel Tennis Complex.

The Bearkats fell to 3-3 on the season as Southern Miss improved to 4-0.

Lusine Chobanyan won her No. 5 singles match in straight sets. She defeated Alyssa Richter 6-4, 6-3.

Petra Kaszas easily defeated Shevita Aulana in straight sets. She cruised 6-3, 6-2 to earn a point for Sam Houston.

Kaszas also teamed with Megan Basson to win at No. 2 doubles. They defeated Suhana Das and Clara Tardivel 6-1.

The Bearkats hit the road again this week to play Louisiana Tech on Friday and Murray State on Saturday in Ruston, Louisiana.
