HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston tennis team lost 4-2 to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday afternoon at the McAdams Tennis Center.

Sahithi Vutukuru picked up a win at No. 2 singles for the Bearkats (4-4). She defeated Mariya Shumeika 6-4, 6-3 for her sixth victory of the season.

Isidora Zivkovic earned Sam Houston's other point with a victory at No. 4 singles. She topped Emma Honore 6-4, 6-1 for her fourth win.

Sunskrithi Damera almost pulled out a victory at No. 5 singles but fell 7-5, 7-5 to Leopoldine Boisseau. Lusine Chobanyan lost at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-1, and Petra Kaszas fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.

The Bearkats will host Rice on Sunday at 1 p.m. and will open WAC play at home against Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
