NACOGDOCHES — The Sam Houston tennis team and Stephen F. Austin battled to the wire once again Saturday, but this time the Ladyjacks were the ones to come out on top 4-3.

All three of the Bearkats points came in singles action.

Megan Basson picked up another win at No. 1 singles. She cruised past Nyah Kauders in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

Lusine Chobanyan earned her eighth win of the season at No. 4 singles. She put away Elena Bleicher 6-4, 6-1.

Sam Houston's other win came at the No. 6 spot. Petra Kaszas outlasted Al Noa Fabre 7-5, 6-7, 6-4.

The Bearkats had two singles matches that went to three sets.

Sahithi Vutukuru won her first set 6-3 at the No. 3 spot but dropped the next two 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5, Sunskrithi Damera lost her first set 6-3, won the second set 6-2 to tie it and dropped the final set 6-4.
