The love and support I've received for the work I have been blessed to do over my short time in Huntsville has been incredible."

"Carlos is perfect to step in this role," SHSU Associate AD for Broadcasting and Digital Media Jason Barfield said upon the announcement. "Early on when he was a student I knew he was talented and was someone we wanted to have involved with the Bearkat Sports Network. He has shown the ability to call multiple sports and already has experience calling some of the biggest moments in Bearkat history. He will bring a passion and knowledge to both the sports he's calling and to the broadcasting profession itself. I could not be happier to see him take this next step in his professional career."
Zimmermann holds a bachelors degree in mass communications and a minor in sports media from Sam Houston and is currently in pursuit of his master's degree at SHSU. The Houston native currently serves as an on-air personality for 101.7 KSAM-FM and 94.1/104.9 KHVL "The Lake."
