Kats fall to Wake Forest in tournament finale

SAN MARCOS – The Sam Houston volleyball team closed out the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday morning, falling to Wake Forest, 3-0, at Strahan Arena.

Alyssa Fielder delivered a career-high 12 kills on 35 attacks and Hannah Baker added 19 digs, but Wake Forest dominated the service line with 11 aces to just three by the Kats, and hit .225 for the match to secure the win.

Catherine Krieger added seven kills for Sam Houston and Analise Lucio had a double-double with 14 assists and 12 digs.

Sam Houston will look to get back into the win column next weekend with three matches at the Baylor Classic, starting Thursday against McNeese.
