SAN MARCOS — Sam Houston faces a familiar foe Tuesday as the Bearkats battle Texas State with a chance to get a leg up in the series against the Bobcats.  

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. against the former Southland Conference rival at Strahan Arena and is set to be aired on ESPN+. 

This will be the 82 all-time meeting between the Bearkats and the Bobcats. The series is tied 41 with the last match ending in a 70-75 loss for the Bearkats.  

The Bearkats are coming off of a 96-43 victory over Schreiner at home. Leading the way for the Kats was Kaylee Jefferson and Raanee Smith, who both posted new career highs in points with 22 and 18, respectively. Smith also led the Kats in rebounds, posting her second double-double of the season.
