Kats take fifth at All American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE — The Sam Houston men's golf team finished fifth at the All American Intercollegiate held at the Golf Club of Houston on Monday and Tuesday.

The Bearkats turned in rounds of 288-289-291 for a 4-over 868 on the par-72, 7,067-yard course. Ole Miss won the tournament with a 9-under 855, Tennessee and Louisville tied for second at 5-under 859 and Kansas State was fourth at 2-over 866 in the 21-team field.

Bret Gray led Sam Houston with rounds of 69-71-71 for 5-under 211 to tie for third place in the individual standings. Jack Randle tied for 21^st with rounds of 74-70-75 for 3-over 219.

Josh German finished tied for 33^rd with a 5-over 221 following rounds of 75-72-74. Kristoffer Max tied for 53^rd with rounds of 70-78-77 for 9-over 225, and Samuel McKenzie tied for 80^th after shooting 83-76-71 for 14-over 230.
