Kats sign two decorated transfers

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston women's basketball head coach Ravon Justice is pleased to announce the addition of two transfers for the upcoming season.

Diana Rosenthal, who led Prairie View in scoring last season, and Kassidy Dixon of Eastern Arizona have signed with the Bearkats.

Rosenthal, a 5-9 guard, was named first-team All-SWAC last season after she averaged 15.6 points per game, fourth best in the league, and shot 38.7 from the field. She made 58 3-pointers and shot 34.5 percent from behind the arc while averaging 3.0 rebounds.

As a junior, she averaged 12.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She was a second-team All-SWAC selection.

Dixon transferred to Eastern Arizona after her freshman year at Grand Canyon. The 5-10 guard started 28 games and averaged 9.8 points on 43.5 percent shooting.

She averaged 7.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game to help the Lady Monsters win the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference championship. She was named to the All-ACCAC first team and was second-team all-region.
