Women’s hoops signs two JUCO standouts

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston women's head basketball coach Ravon Justice has added two junior college transfers for the 2023-24 season.

Kaila Kelley from Trinity Valley and Diarrah Sissoko from Grayson College have signed with the Bearkats after standout seasons.

Kelley is a 5-8 guard who averaged 11.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Lady Cardinals. The incoming junior from Cedar Hill scored 11 points in a 66-63 overtime loss to Northwest Florida State in the NJCAA national championship game.

Sissoko is a 5-10 guard who averaged 14.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last season. The Bamako, Mali native scored 20 or more points in four games including a season-high 22 in a 68-54 victory over Weatherford College.
