Bearkats swept to close regular season

MIAMI, Fl.– The Sam Houston volleyball team fell to FIU 3-0 on Saturday at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.Â
The Bearkats (13-16, 8-10 CUSA) dropped the match in straight sets, 25-21, 25-18, 25-14.Â
Sam Houston started strong with a 6-0 run but FIU was able to close it out with 25-21 set win. It was all FIU from there as they took the second and third set. Â
Michaela Panekova led the team with 13 kills. Avery fowler had 26 assists and two aces on the match. Â
Sam Houston will head to the Conference USA Tournament in El Paso where they will go toe-to-toe with the top teams in the league with a chance to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships. The sixth-seeded Bearkats will face third-seed New Mexico State On Thursday at 8 p.m.Â
