Kats add two signees to the roster

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston women's basketball program and head coach Ravon Justice announced the signing of Fanta Kone and Nyla Inmon for the 2024-2025 season. Â
Kone and Inmon are the newest additions to the team along with incoming freshman Madison Bob, who signed on National Signing Day. Â
Fanta Kone • G • 5-7 • Mali, Africa / Tyler Junior College Â
Kone competed at Tyler Junior College for two seasons where she earned all-conference honorable mention this past season. Â
Her freshman year she received NJCAA All-Academic team honors, Region 14 Freshman of the Year, all-conference and all-region. She appeared in 28 games and averaged 11.3 points and 10.2 rebounds. Â
Kone appeared in 16 games her sophomore season, averaging 7.4 points and 7.1 rebounds. Â

Fanta has a great knowledge of the game from an X's and O's perspective as well as an understanding of the importance of doing what it takes to help us find a way to compete at the highest level. Nyla Inmon • F • 6-0 • Tyler, Texas / Legacy HS / Kilgore College Â
Inmon spent the last two years at Kilgore College where she was named to the all-academic team twice and was a two-time all-tournament team selection.Â
 Her freshman year she competed in 30 games and averaged 11.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, Inmon appeared in 32 games and put up 11.6 points and 8.9 per contest on the way to earning Defensive Player of the Year and all-conference honors. Â

"Nyla is a versatile player who has the ability to help us in multiple ways. She scores it down low, defends the interior and shoots it from the arc. Nyla is committed to helping us elevate our defensive culture, especially since she's capable of defending multiple positions on the floor. She sees the floor in a way that allows her to make passes that make everyone on the floor better and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Bearkat Family."Â
