Kats open CUSA play at home

DALLAS— The Sam Houston women's basketball team will open the 2024-2025 Conference USA regular season conference play at Johnson Coliseum in the new year, the league office announced Thursday. Â
The Bearkats begin conference play at home on Jan. 2 against New Mexico State. They will finish out the weekend on Jan. 4 with UTEP before hitting the road. Â
The Kats travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to face Liberty on Jan. 9 and make their way down to Florida International on Jan. 11. Sam Houston will face newcomer Kennesaw State at home on Jan. 16 then Jax State that following Saturday, Jan. 18. Â
Sam Houston will be traveling again to face Middle Tennessee on Jan. 23 two days before Western Kentucky on Jan. 25. The Bearkats will return home for two weeks of home games starting with Louisiana Tech on Feb. 1, FIU on Feb. 6 and then will finish off the homestead with Liberty on Feb. 8. Â
The Bearkats head to Jax State and Kennesaw on Feb. 13 and 15, respectively. Returning home to their last home games of the season, the Kats will face Western Kentucky on Feb. 20 and Middle Tennessee on Feb. 22. Â

Sam Houston closes out the regular season with a trip to Ruston, Louisiana on Feb. 27 against Louisiana Tech and head out west to face UTEP and New Mexico State on Mar. 6 and 8. Â
