Trommetter named CUSA Male Golfer of the Week

DALLAS – Following his win at the Git-R-Done Invitational, Sam Houston sophomore Hugo Trommetter has been named the Conference USA Male Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.Â
Trommetter picked up his first win at the college level on Tuesday when he claimed the title at the Git-R-Done Invitational, hosted by Nebraska, also helping Sam Houston claim its first team trophy of the 2024-25 season. Â
The junior from Casablanca, Morocco, shot 68-65-69 for the event at Firethorn Country Club, winning the individual race by two shots and helping the Kats to an eight-stroke victory as a team. He opened his final round with birdies on each of his first three holes before dropping two more shots to par on a bogey-free back nine to the finish.Â
The honor is the first for Trommetter in his Bearkat career and the first by a Kat in 2024-25. He and the rest of the Kats will next head to the Bayou City Collegiate, hosted by Rice, beginning September 30 at Westwood Golf Club in Houston.Â
