Ogayemi earns CUSA academic honors

DALLAS— Sam Houston senior Deborah Ogayemi has been recognized by Conference USA for her work in the classroom.
The foward from Waterford, Ireland was named to the All-Academic squad after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as she pursues her MBA.
Ogayemi leads the team in points scored per game with 12.1 points per game. She received the first Player of the Week award for the Bearkats before they joined CUSA in 2023.
She has recorded six double-doubles this season and a career-high of 19 points against Jax State, where the Bearkats completed their first road CUSA sweep.
Ogayemi has done more than just scored for the Kats, she also leads the team in rebounds per game with 7.4 per game.
