Roulston named CUSA Freshman of the Week

DALLAS - Sam Houston's Faith Roulston was named CUSA Freshman of the Week on Monday after helping the Bearkats sweep their two-match series against Delaware.Â
Roulston totaled 15 kills on a .406 hitting percentage and added eight blocks across nine sets as Sam Houston earned a five-set victory Friday and a four-set win Saturday. She committed just two attack errors in 32 attempts, averaging 1.67 kills and 0.89 blocks per set.Â
She opened the weekend with five kills and a team-high eight blocks in Friday's 3-2 victory. The Bearkats claimed the deciding set 16-14 to secure the series opener.Â
Roulston followed with an efficient offensive performance Saturday, putting down 10 kills without an error on 16 swings for a .625 hitting percentage. Her effort helped Sam Houston hit .294 as a team and complete the series sweep with a 3-1 victory.Â
For the weekend the Bearkats held Delaware to a combined .097 hitting percentage. Roulston and the Kats next head to Liberty for a pair of matches against the Flames, beginning Friday in Lynchburg.
