LA Tech hand the Kats their third straight loss

Louisiana Tech handed Sam Houston a 75–60 defeat, extending the Bearkats' losing streak to three games with just one week remaining in Conference USA regular-season play.
Lady Techsters (22–5, 15–1 CUSA) controlled the game early, outscoring the Bearkats (16–12, 9–7 CUSA) 55–38 through the first three quarters to build a commanding advantage. Sam Houston showed fight in the fourth quarter, using a 7–0 run to cut into the deficit, but the regular-season champions responded with a 6–0 run to secure the win.
Whitney Dunn led the Bearkats offensively with 16 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. Nyla Inmon added 15 points and paced the team on the boards with six rebounds. Annika Corcoran continued her strong stretch, recording her third consecutive double-digit performance with 12 points, including two three-pointers.
Defensively, Sam Houston forced 22 turnovers while committing 12 of their own and totaled eight steals, four coming from Fanta Kone. With her performance, Kone reached 90 steals on the season, becoming the first Bearkat in program history to record both 100+ assists and 90+ steals in a single season. Aysia Ward-Strong recorded four blocks, helping the Bearkats finish with eight total blocks as a team.Â
The Bearkats also connected on seven three-pointers, their highest total in conference play this season.
