
Men's Golf adds Jones for 2026-27

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston head coach Brandt Kieschnick has announced the addition of standout golfer Brett Jones for the 2026-27 season.
Jones joins the Bearkats as a transfer from Barry University, bringing collegiate experience and a strong international résumé. The Calgary, Alberta native earned a victory at the 2025 Alberta Men's Amateur Championship firing 67-66-63 and winning by eight shots, showcasing his ability to compete and win against elite fields.
During the 2025 season, Jones recorded a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional and placed 21st at the Copperhead Championship with 75-68-74. He also added a 33rd-place finish at the Citrus Intercollegiate with 74-71-79 and competed in several high-level collegiate events throughout the year.
In addition to his collegiate success, Jones gained valuable experience competing in prestigious amateur events, including the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship and the Pacific Coast Amateur. His international background and consistent play make him a valuable addition to the Bearkats lineup.
