Morghen Day is in her first season as student assistant with the Sam Houston State women's basketball team following a decorated four-year playing career with the program. The Rockwall, Texas, native played in 112 career games and made 61 starts. While averging 23 minutes per game, the guard raked in 227 career assists and 334 points.
Day helped Sam Houston to the Southland Conference Tournament championship game in 2016-17 during a season in which she posted 19.6 minutes per game and 31 appearances.
As a student assistant, Day helps the program in a variety of roles including practice management and game day operations. Day is a graduate of Rockwall High School where she was a two-time first-team all-district selection as well as team captain with the basketball program.
