As assistant athletic director for finance, John Holder oversees budget management and reports, NCAA and Southland Conference reports and Equity in Athletics reports for the Bearkats.
He is the liaison to the SHSU Financial Aid office, NCAA compliance and SHSU I.T. He also coordinates NLI/scholarship administration and gift-in-kind management.
Holder was named as assistant athletic director for finance on June 1, 2013.
A 1991 graduate of Lumberton High School, Holder first joined the Sam Houston athletic staff as manager for the Bearkat baseball team. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sam Houston in 1996 and his Masters of Business Administration degree in 2000.
His many positions with Bearkat athletics have included student employee (1992-97), athletic administration (1997-2004), facilities (1997-2003), NCAA compliance (2001-09) and finance (2009-present).
