Phillips is in his first year as a graduate assistant for the Bearkats.
He hails from Columbus, Ohio, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Youngstown State in May of 2025.
In his final undergraduate year at YSU, Coach Phillips completed an internship with the strength and conditioning department specifically working with their football program. His work with the football program at Youngstown State afforded him the opportunity to work with the Ohio State football strength and conditioning program where he gained valuable experience with the Buckeye program during their entire 2025 football season, helping the program finish as CFP contenders.
Phillips is pursuing his CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association
