Savannah Madden was born and raised in San Diego, California. She went to Scripps Ranch high school and played for San Diego Surf ECNL where she committed to the University of Texas to play goalkeeper.
She managed to earn multiple Big 12 conference goalkeeper of the week accolades along with a few Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the week selections. Madden was named to the All-Big 12 Â second team and finished her career as Big 12 champions. She was also a four-time Academic All-Big 12 first-team selection and managed to close out her final season with 15 wins, which were the 3rd most in a single season in Texas history.
Madden finished her career rated 2nd in UT wins (37), 3rd in solo shutouts (24) and minutes played (6,135), and 4th in saves (278). She also once again tied a school record with 4 consecutive shutouts and played every minute during the 402:40 shutout streak.Â
Madden graduated in 2021 with her bachelors in economics, minoring in business and in 2022 with her masters in strategic communication in business. She went on to sign her first professional contract in 2022 with the Houston Dash for two years and shortly signed her second overseas in Sweden’s top division, the OBOS Damallsvenskan with Vittsjo Gik for another 1.5 years where she earned multiple Man of the Match accolades and Best XI selections.Â
Madden also played for her Senior National Team, Peru where she debuted in 2024 against Bolivia posting a win and shutout. She later captained against Nicaragua and was selected for the final roster to compete in the Copa America 2025 and started in goal against Uruguay. She recently stepped away in 2026 from playing to begin her coaching career at Sam Houston.
