After a four-year career as one of Sam Houston's all-time best shortstops, Hailey Wiginton now will serve as volunteer assistant for the Bearkat softball program.
Wiginton completed her playing career ranked as Sam Houston's No. 2 all-time leading hitter with a .348 career average.
Her 224 total hits from 2008 to 2011 also stands as the second highest career figure in Bearkat history.Wiginton was a four-time All-Southland Conference performer and also earned All-Southland Tournament in post season play in 2009.
Wiginton was a four-time first team All-District shortstop for Friendswood High School. She also played for Team Texas AFA softball club, helping lead the squad to a top 15 national finish.
